SLIDING SCALE

Although an investment, we know that therapy is expensive. Our therapists at FIVE3 offer a reduced fee to a limited number of clients.

If you’re not covered by benefits/ insurance and would require a sliding scale, please contact us to get more information about our sliding scale program. This program is specially designed as our way to give back to our community. Mental wellness is our passion and we want to be able to provide it to all in need as we are able.

If a full fee for service option isn’t feasible please check out our HIGH5 Program.

Confidentiality

At FIVE3, confidentiality means that the information you share during your session stays between you and your therapist.

Limits To Confidentiality

The only thing that takes precedence over confidentiality is safety. There are FOUR limits to confidentiality where your FIVE3 therapist is legally (and ethically) obligated to report to the appropriate authorities:

1. Intent to harm yourself or others

2. If there is risk of harm or immediate to a child and/or dependent

3. If you disclose abuse caused at the hands of a licensed professional (i.e. a doctor or therapist)

4. If your therapist’s case notes are subpoenaed for court

General FAQs

DIRECT BILLING:
FIVE3 Therapy does not offer direct billing to third parties. Once you have paid for your session in full, we will supply you with a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company or employer for reimbursement. The same policy applies for sessions covered under public institutions such as the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB).

Please be advised that our services are not covered under OHIP. If you require services via OHIP-covered therapy services, contact your primary care provider and ask about the availability to connect to a local community Family Health Team (FHT).

HOW LONG WILL THERAPY TAKE:

The length of your treatment and journey at FIVE3 will vary depending on your co- created treatment plan and goals. After completing an initial intake session and assessment with you, your therapist will be able to offer information and recommendations related to frequency and duration of sessions.

Remember, healing is not linear. While some therapy goals can be addressed using brief interventions, others will require greater time and effort. Wherever you are on your journey, know that healing is possible.

DO YOU HAVE A WAITLIST?

We try to book clients in at the time of their enquiry, the growing demand for high-quality therapy services may require us to place you on a waiting list. The wait time for each therapist will vary depending on the specialized services they offer as well as your preference for mode of service delivery: in-person or virtual.

If you are in crisis and require immediate support, please call 911, visit your local emergency department, or contact REACH OUT.

CAN YOU DIAGNOSE?
As a team of Registered Social Workers, FIVE3 Therapists are not able to provide formal assessments or diagnoses.

Only medical doctors and Registered Psychologists can make a diagnosis.

If you are seeking a formal assessment or diagnosis, you may wish to contact your primary care provider.

WHAT IS AN RSW?

The terms “therapist”, “counsellor” and “clinician” are often used interchangeably.

Our team is currently made up of Registered Social Workers. All of our clinicians have received specialized training in various therapeutic modalities and are qualified to work with clients in mental health settings.

Registered Social Workers are governed by the OCSWSSW (Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers).

Registered Social Workers will hold either a Bachelor’s of Social Work (BSW) or a Master’s of Social Work (MSW). If you are unsure whether your provider covers one or both of these designations, we strongly recommend contacting them directly as every company is different.

WHEN WILL I RECIEVE REIMBURSEMENT FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY?

FIVE3 Therapy will issue session receipts once payment has been made. Over weekends and holidays, please allow 2 business days for receipts to be generated.

If you have private coverage, you can then submit receipts to your provider for reimbursement. Unfortunately, we cannot offer timelines for reimbursement from your insurance provider. You may wish to contact them directly to get a better understanding of their processes.
